At least 40 killed as bus plunges into ravine in Pakistan

At least 40 passengers were killed and eight injured when a bus plunged into a ravine in Pakistan on Friday.

The accident occurred in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province after the bus crossed from the southwestern province of Balochistan. The vehicle was traveling from the Dana Sar area of Sherani district in Balochistan.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said the eight injured passengers are being treated at a hospital. A rescue operation was launched immediately after the accident.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti said he has ordered a rescue operation at the site.
