DHAKA — Students will receive their new textbooks on Jan. 1, before the SSC examinations begin a week later, Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon said Thursday.
“Students will definitely be given books on Jan. 1. The SSC examination is on Jan. 7. We will complete the book distribution before then. Students will smell the new books. They will read them. Classes will also be held in between the exams,” said Milon, who is also minister for primary and mass education.
He made the remarks in response to a question at a news conference at the Education Ministry on Thursday.
The dates of the 2027 SSC and HSC examinations were also announced at the briefing. The SSC examinations will start on Jan. 7 next year and end on Feb. 6, 2027, according to the schedule. Under the proposed routine, practical examinations must be completed by Feb. 11. The proposed HSC 2027 schedule was also released. Under that schedule, the examinations will begin on June 6 next year and conclude on July 13, with practical exams to be completed by July 18.
“You are saying you see widespread changes in education, but I do not,” Milon said. “Change in education will take a lot of time. We are working on it, and you will gradually see many changes.”
