Police in Nabinagar, Brahmanbaria, have recovered the decomposing body of a seven-year-old madrasa pupil, Mim, from scrub 48 hours after she went missing.
The body was recovered on Monday afternoon (September 21) from Bidyakut village in Bidyakut union of the upazila.
Mim was the daughter of Mizanur Rahman of Bidyakut village.
Police and family sources said Mim, a madrasa pupil, left home on Saturday morning (September 19) and went missing. On Monday afternoon local people saw her decomposing body in scrub beside the pond at Bidyakut Bara Bari and informed the police. Police then recovered the body and sent it to the district morgue for a post-mortem examination.
Her father, Mizanur Rahman, said through tears that he could not even imagine his young daughter going in this way.
Nabinagar police officer-in-charge Morshedul Alam Chowdhury said the child’s decomposing body had been recovered and sent to the district morgue for a post-mortem examination.
