DHAKA — Examiners for public exams routinely show widespread negligence in collecting and evaluating answer scripts, a practice that ultimately costs students, education officials said.
The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board said 235 examiners failed to collect the answer scripts of the Bangla First Paper exam on the scheduled day. They have been asked to collect the scripts on Tuesday, May 5, or face legal action, the board said.
The information was contained in a letter from the board issued Monday.
The letter said teachers enrolled in the e-TIF system had been appointed by the board as examiners to evaluate the 2026 SSC Bangla First Paper answer scripts. Although they were sent text messages on April 30 instructing them to collect the scripts on Monday, May 4, the examiners did not appear, creating a backlog in the evaluation process.
The board requested that the examiners from each institution report to the board by 11 a.m. on May 5 to collect the answer scripts. Otherwise, action will be taken in accordance with the rules, it said.
