Two more people have died of dengue across the country in the past 24 hours, while another 423 were admitted to hospital in the same period.
The information came in a bulletin from the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (2 August).
The bulletin said that of those infected with dengue in the past 24 hours (from 8am Saturday to 8am Sunday), 54 were admitted to hospital in Barishal division, 49 in Chattogram division, 154 in Dhaka division, 81 in Khulna division, 36 in Mymensingh division, 29 in Rajshahi division, 16 in Rangpur division and four in Sylhet division.
So far this year, 16,104 people have been admitted to hospital with dengue.
The Directorate General of Health Services also said 56 people have died of dengue so far this year, including two this month. There were two deaths in January, two in February, one in May, 13 in June and 36 in July.
