The dengue outbreak in Bangladesh continues. Another 139 people were hospitalized with dengue across the country in the past 24 hours, the health directorate’s Health Emergency Operation Centre said in a press release on Saturday (July 4).
Of the newly hospitalized patients, 30 were from Barishal division (outside city corporations), 16 from Chattogram division (outside city corporations), and the remainder from Dhaka and other divisions.
So far this year, 6,597 people have been infected with dengue — 62% male and 38% female. Nineteen people have died of dengue in 2026.
In 2025, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue and 413 died. In 2024, the total was 101,214 cases with 575 deaths.
