An unidentified man, estimated to be approximately 40 years old, was killed after being struck by a train at Uthli railway station in Jibannagar upazila, Chuadanga.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 pm on Monday (July 6), when the Khulna-to-Chilahati 727 Up Rupsha Express struck the man on the west side of the platform, killing him at the scene.

Local residents said the man had been seen wandering around the Uthli railway station area for the past several days. They believe he was standing on or very close to the tracks when the fast-moving train struck him. Some locals claimed the man appeared to be mentally unstable, though police have not confirmed this.

Darshana Railway Police outpost Sub-Inspector Rafiq said the body was recovered and will be sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy after completion of legal formalities. Police are working to identify the victim and legal proceedings are underway.

Uthli railway station master Abu Saeed confirmed the incident, saying the man was killed after being struck by the 727 Up Rupsha Express arriving from Khulna.
