Chougacha upazila in Jashore marked July Uprising Day 2026 on Wednesday with a reception for uprising participants and bereaved families, a discussion and a prize-giving program.
The event was held at the Upazila Parishad hall and chaired by Assistant Commissioner (Land) G.M.A. Munib.
Police, agriculture officials, local political leaders, student representatives, family members, journalists and civic representatives addressed the discussion.
Guests presented prizes to students who won a drawing competition held in memory of those killed in the July uprising. Government officials, teachers, students and bereaved families also attended.
Later in the day, an 11-party rally was held at the town’s Press Club intersection and the upazila BNP organized a victory procession.
