The district law-and-order committee held its monthly meeting in Chuadanga, along with meetings of other district administration committees. The meetings discussed and reviewed the district’s overall law-and-order situation, public safety and various important issues.
The meetings were held at 10am on Sunday (9 August) in the deputy commissioner’s conference room, organised by the district administration, and chaired by Chuadanga deputy commissioner and district magistrate Lutfun Nahar. Chuadanga-1 MP Advocate Masud Ravez Rasel was chief guest.
In his address as chief guest, Advocate Masud Ravez Rasel said maintaining law and order was important, and that officials and staff must properly perform their duties to keep the situation normal. He directed officials to take effective steps to stop drugs, theft, robbery, terrorism and extortion, and to properly run land and health services, roads and other development work.
Chuadanga deputy director of local government Sharmin Akter, additional district magistrate (education and ICT) B M Tariq-uz-Zaman and additional superintendent of police (administration and finance) Minhaj-ul-Islam were present. Officers from the district’s four upazila nirbahi offices and various government departments took part, along with representatives of political and social organisations and various professions.
The meeting called for stronger coordinated local efforts on market management, traffic order, preventing juvenile crime and maintaining social harmony. At the end, those concerned were given the necessary directions to implement quickly the decisions taken to improve the district’s law-and-order situation.
