A pre-campaign orientation meeting and press conference for the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign was held at the Chuadanga Civil Surgeon’s office conference room at noon on Thursday (June 25), ahead of the upcoming district-wide campaign.
The meeting was told that the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign will be held across Chuadanga district on 28 June, targeting 145,845 children. Of those, 17,541 children aged six to eleven months will each receive one red Vitamin A capsule, and 128,304 children aged one to five years will receive a blue capsule. The capsules will be distributed from eight permanent centres and 896 vaccination posts.
The meeting was chaired by Chuadanga Civil Surgeon Dr. Hadi Zia Uddin Ahmed, with a presentation on the campaign delivered by MOCS Dr. Sajid Hasan of the Civil Surgeon’s office. The civil surgeon highlighted the importance of the Vitamin A Plus Campaign to eliminate nutritional blindness and reduce child mortality, and said extensive publicity would be conducted to ensure no child in the district missed out.
Chuadanga Press Club president Nazmul Haque Shapon, general secretary Shah Alam Soni, and representatives from print and electronic media attended.
