India’s Border Security Force (BSF) is pushing Bengali-speaking people into Bangladesh under cover of night, branding them Bangladeshis indiscriminately and without any verification — treatment described as inhumane, leaving those people in severe distress. Local residents are keeping watch on the border through the night alongside Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). The BGB is broadcasting warnings about illegal entry by hand-mike, cautioning people not to take position within 150 yards of the border.

Lieutenant Colonel Nazmul Hasan, director and commander of the Chuadanga-6 BGB Battalion, said BGB patrols against illegal entry and crossings are continuing, with local residents assisting. Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Alam, director and commander of the Maheshpur-58 BGB Battalion, said the BGB is working day and night to prevent illegal entry on the border, with substantial help from local residents.
