A day-long rukon education camp was held on the initiative of the Gazipur district unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Rukons of various levels from the district took part.

The camp, presided over by district Jamaat Amir Dr Md Jahangir Alam and conducted by district secretary Shafi Uddin, was addressed as chief guest by Jamaat-e-Islami central assistant secretary general Maulana ATM Masum.

In his speech as chief guest, he said: “Allah the Exalted created humans and jinn to worship Him. Humans were also created to carry out the duty of khilafat. In every age the prophets and messengers performed this duty — not alone, but by involving people through the work of dawah and forming a united nation.”

He said: “Jamaat-e-Islami is working to establish the faith in this country with that principle in mind. The organisation’s workers work in the hope of attaining Allah’s pleasure and Paradise. The rukons are the driving force of this organisation.”

He added: “Jamaat-e-Islami is working to establish a society based on justice and fairness under the leadership of honest people.” He claimed that forces opposing Islam and the Islamic movement around the world wanted to obstruct the Islamic movement.

Special guests at the education camp included Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member Abdur Rab, central work-council members Dr Maulana Samiul Haque Faruqi, Dr Maulana Khalilur Rahman Madani and Dr Hafizur Rahman, along with district-level leaders.
