Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami issued a statement on Tuesday over reports circulating in various media and on social media involving Gazi Nazrul Islam, the member of parliament for Satkhira-4.
In the statement, the party’s assistant secretary general and secretary of its central publicity and media department, Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, said: “Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is watching the recently published reports in various media and on social media involving Gazi Nazrul Islam, the MP for Satkhira-4.”
“Statements by Gazi Nazrul Islam himself, and video statements by his first and second wives and the father of his second wife, have already appeared in the media,” he said.
The statement added: “After gathering further information and the facts of the actual incident, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will take necessary steps in line with organizational rules.”
