Gangni municipal Jamaat holds workers' conference

GANGNI, Meherpur — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s municipal unit in Gangni held a workers’ conference here Friday, the party said.

The conference was held at the Chougacha Darul Iyatim auditorium after asr prayers on Friday, May 8.

Md. Nazmul Huda, member of parliament from the Meherpur-2 (Gangni) constituency, was the chief guest. Md. Ahsanul Haque, amir of the Gangni municipal Jamaat, presided over the meeting.

Special guests included Md. Rabiul Islam, amir of the Gangni upazila Jamaat; Maulana Jahangir Alam, the upazila secretary; Maulana Abdul Majid, a member of the district working council; Was Karuni Jamil, the municipal secretary; and Zillur Rahman, secretary of the municipal Baitulmal.

Speakers urged stronger organizational activity, the building of a moral society and broader public engagement, and called on workers to act in unity to push ideological and organizational programs forward.

Jamaat workers from various wards of the municipality attended the conference. The event closed with a special prayer for the peace and prosperity of the country, the nation and the Muslim ummah.
