Students dissatisfied with their SSC and equivalent examination results have so far filed 1.2 million applications for answer script re-scrutiny. This figure spans all education boards combined.

Education, Primary, and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon disclosed the figure himself following an event organized by American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) at the Sheraton Hotel in Dhaka on Monday, August 17.

The education minister further said an enormous number of applications were received this time for answer script re-scrutiny. He said: “I looked into it yesterday. From what I learned, it seems like every student wants their answer script re-evaluated. That can’t continue this way. So we’ve decided to introduce a new policy for answer script re-evaluation. We will announce what GPA threshold will qualify for re-evaluation, and what conditions will apply.”

It is understood that the re-scrutiny application window opened on August 11 and remained open through today, August 17. Under an entirely new system this year, dissatisfied candidates could apply for re-scrutiny by paying a fee of 150 taka per subject.

In the 2025 SSC and equivalent examinations, the nationwide average pass rate was 68.45 percent, with a total of 139,032 students achieving GPA-5.
