DHAKA — The schedule for Bangladesh’s 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate exams, known as HSC, has been released. The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board published the routine on its website on Wednesday, April 22.
The HSC and equivalent exams will begin July 2 at 10 a.m. with the compulsory Bangla first paper. The written tests will end Aug. 8 with the second paper of finance, banking and insurance. Practical exams must be completed by Aug. 15.
The exams will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on scheduled days. A second shift will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Students must take their seats in the exam hall at least 30 minutes before the start.
According to the instructions, multiple-choice questions will be administered first, followed by creative or essay-type questions. The 30-mark multiple-choice section will last 30 minutes, and the 70-mark creative section will last 2 hours and 30 minutes.
For subjects with a practical component, the 25-mark multiple-choice section will last 25 minutes and the 50-mark creative section will last 2 hours and 35 minutes.
