SYLHET — BNP has given its final nomination for the Sylhet-6 constituency, covering Golapganj and Beanibazar, to district BNP general secretary and lawyer Emran Ahmed Chowdhury.

Chowdhury received the party’s final nomination letter signed by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday afternoon, Jan. 19.

“I am grateful to BNP chairman Tarique Rahman and the party’s top leaders for granting me the final nomination,” Chowdhury told Kalbela. “I dedicate this achievement to the honorable voters and people of all levels in Golapganj and Beanibazar. I am grateful to my party. My only goal is to work with everyone for the development of the Sylhet-6 seat. Party leaders and workers at all levels will set aside their differences and work in support of the paddy sheaf,” referring to the party’s electoral symbol.

“Everyone who sought the party’s nomination in Sylhet-6 is qualified,” he said. “I have respect and affection for each of them. Their sacrifice, work and contribution to the party are no less. Even though they did not get the nomination, we are all on the same platform. From today, all of us will throw ourselves into the field with renewed strength. God willing, we will return home only after securing victory for the paddy sheaf.”
