PIRGACHHA, Rangpur — At least seven people were injured in a bloody clash between two groups over a government-recorded road in Pirgachha upazila, police said.
The clash broke out on the morning of Monday, March 2, in the Nayandir Par area of Kalyani union. The injured were being treated at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
According to local sources, the road, which is on government records, had been occupied for years by an influential group. After a petition by Shahjada Mia, the Kalyani union council moved to recover the road. When the panel chairman and union council members began marking the boundary on Monday morning, both sides took up sticks and clashed.
