DHAKA — Bangladesh Army Chief Gen. Waker-Uz-Zaman returned home Friday after a visit to the United States, the Bangladesh Army said in a Facebook post.
During the visit, he took part in various programs in the state of Georgia and met with prominent figures, the post said. Georgia presented him with a special resolution recognizing the contribution of Bangladeshi peacekeepers to United Nations peacekeeping missions.
He also held bilateral meetings with key figures, where the two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest to Bangladesh and the United States, according to the post.
