RANGAMATI — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held a day-long election campaign Saturday in Kaukhali upazila of Rangamati, the party said.

The campaign ran from morning to evening across various unions and rural areas of the upazila and was led by lawyer Mokhtar Ahmed, the Jamaat-e-Islami nominee for the Rangamati-299 parliamentary seat. Ahmed took part in public outreach, street meetings and discussion sessions in several locations.

Speaking to voters, Ahmed said: “If we win this election, we want to build a welfare-oriented society on the foundations of justice and good governance. Meeting people’s expectations is our main goal. We want to build a Bangladesh where people’s rights and dignity are given the highest priority.”

He also outlined plans to develop Kaukhali — known for its boats, hills and rivers — through investments in education, healthcare, agriculture and tourism.

Local party leaders and activists attended.
