BOGURA — Char Dharabarsha, a sandbar in the Jamuna river in Bogura’s Sariakandi upazila, has emerged as a scenic spot with potential to become a major tourism destination, residents and visitors say.

The sandbar lies along the bank of the river, brimming with natural beauty. Visitors are greeted by the rustling sound of leaves swaying in the breeze on countless trees. The roar of engine-driven boats moving in different directions and the gentle lapping of the river’s waves add to the atmosphere.

Bird songs blend with these sounds to create a distinctive ambiance. The sandbar is also a remarkable place to watch the blood-red sunrise over the river in the morning and the sun setting in the western sky in the evening. The sandbar emerged in the Jamuna river in Bohail union of Sariakandi in Bogura district under the supervision of the forest department, which planted trees there. It is becoming popular as a playground of natural beauty.
