SATKHIRA — Police have recovered the hanging body of a 19-year-old woman from a rented house in Satkhira, officials said.
The body of Taslima Akter Hira was recovered from a house in the Palashpole area of the town Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 21, police said.
Hira was the daughter of Shahjahan Ali of Bagachra village in Jashore. She worked at the Adlib showroom in Satkhira town and had moved into the rented house in Palashpole about a month ago, according to her family.
House owner Masum Billah Shuvo said Hira had been living at his house for a month. “She worked at the Adlib showroom. Details can be obtained from the showroom,” he said.
Adlib showroom manager Atiar Rahman said Hira was a member of the staff. “Today was her day off. She told us in the morning she would go to Jashore, so we did not check on her,” Rahman said.
Shaminul Haque, officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, said police recovered the body after receiving the information. Necessary legal steps are being taken, he said.
