TALA, Satkhira — Jamaat-e-Islami does not seize fish enclosures or land or extract sand anywhere in the country, party Central Secretary Professor Golam Parwar said Monday at a youth and student rally in Tala upazila.

“People across the country are ready this time to vote for the scales,” Parwar said, referring to the party’s electoral symbol. “We want to carry the wave of building a new Bangladesh to every home.”

He spoke as the chief guest at the rally at the Tala upazila ground Monday afternoon.

“Jamaat-e-Islami wants to build a humane Bangladesh free of enforced disappearance, killing, looting and corruption,” Parwar said. “People in Tala and Kalaroa must remain calm and not be provoked. A faction is conspiring to block our popular wave. We will not fall into that trap.”

“If Jamaat comes to power, no one in the country will be unemployed. There will be no corruption, no looting. To secure people’s rights, everyone must vote for the scales this time,” he said.

Maulana Mafidullah, the Tala upazila Jamaat ameer, presided. Other speakers included central working committee member Principal Izzat Ullah; Khulna region assistant director Abul Kalam Azad; Khulna divisional organizing secretary Muhaddis Abdul Khaleq; district Jamaat ameer Shahidul Islam Mukul; Chhatra Shibir central secretary Nurul Islam Saddam; district Jamaat secretary Azizur Rahman; assistant secretary Professor Sujayet Ali; Satkhira city Shibir president Al Mamun; and district Chhatra Shibir president Zubayer Hossain.
