NARAIL — Police in Lohagara upazila arrested a 40-year-old man wanted in 13 drug cases and seized 2.5 kilograms of cannabis, officials said.
Lohagara police arrested Yusuf Sheikh in the Pachuriya village area, Lohagara Police Officer-in-Charge Shariful Islam told a press briefing at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
Yusuf Sheikh is the son of the late Chan Mia Sheikh of Pachuriya village in Mallikpur Union, the OC said.
Acting on a tip-off Friday night, Oct. 31, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Md. Masudur Rahman raided Pachuriya village and arrested Yusuf Sheikh from the courtyard of his home, Shariful Islam said. Officers then seized 2.5 kilograms of cannabis from a bag he was carrying.
Yusuf Sheikh is named in 13 drug cases at various police stations, the OC said. A new drug case has been filed against him and he has been sent to court.
