BAGERHAT — The Rampal coal-fired thermal power plant in Bagerhat has set a new generation record, producing 771.70 million units of electricity in August, the plant’s operator said.
That accounted for 7.15 percent of the country’s total generation of 10,100 million units during the month.
For the past three months, the plant has consistently generated more than 600 million units a month, taking total output to 2,036.4 million units over that period.
The figures were released Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 2, by Anwarul Azim, deputy general manager (public relations) of Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company (Pvt.) Ltd., which operates the plant.
