DHAKA — Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir will confront the ousted Awami League on the streets, the group’s secretary general, Nurul Islam Saddam, said.
Saddam made the announcement in a post on his verified Facebook account Monday night.
“The genocidal Awami League is carrying out covert terrorist attacks, taking advantage of the leniency the government has shown,” he said in the post. “But the ousted fascists will be confronted on the streets, God willing.”
Fugitive leaders of the banned Awami League had announced a Dhaka lockdown for Nov. 13. The government and law enforcement agencies are on alert to prevent any disruption, officials said.
