CHOUGACHHA, Jashore — Dr. Mosleh Uddin Farid, the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate for the Jashore-2 (Chougachha-Jhikargachha) parliamentary seat, said the party would create employment for the country’s unemployed youth if it forms the next government.

Farid spoke as the chief guest at a ward 7 workers’ conference of the Chougachha municipal Jamaat unit, held Thursday afternoon at the Chougachha Chhara Pilot Girls’ School ground. The conference was chaired by Abdur Rahman, former councillor and president of the ward 7 Jamaat unit.

“If Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami forms the government, jobs will be arranged for the country’s unemployed youth,” Farid said. “If the number of unemployed decreases, the country will move forward in development. Theft, robbery, snatching, extortion and terrorism will also fall.”

Speakers at the rally included Prof. Joynal Abedin, former vice chairman of the Jhikargachha Upazila Parishad; Maulana Golam Morshed, amir of the Chougachha upazila Jamaat unit; Maulana Nurul Islam, deputy amir; Prof. Nuruzzaman Al Mamun, secretary; Master Rahidul Islam Khan, assistant secretary; Master Kamal Ahmed Bishwas, former municipal panel mayor; Maulana Abdul Khalek, amir of the municipal Jamaat unit; and Dr. Jillur Rahman, secretary of the municipal Jamaat unit.
