Interim government appoints new district administrators in Dhaka and 22 other districts

DHAKA — The interim government has appointed new district administrators in 23 districts including Dhaka as part of a local administration reshuffle ahead of national elections, the public administration ministry said Thursday.

The ministry issued two separate notifications announcing the appointments.

According to the notifications, Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia, the district administrator of Narayanganj, has been appointed district administrator of Chattogram. S.M. Mehdi Hasan, director of the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre, has been appointed to Lakshmipur. Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi, deputy secretary at the Planning Division, has been appointed to Munshiganj. Md. Saifur Rahman, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Shipping, has been appointed to Netrokona. Md. Shahadat Hossain Masud, deputy secretary at the Finance Division, has been appointed to Chapainawabganj. Mohammad Saiful Islam, director at the Chief Adviser’s Office, has been appointed to Naogaon. Md. Anwar Sadat, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Shipping, has been appointed to Khagrachhari. Mu. Reza Hasan, chief executive officer of the Rajshahi District Council, has been appointed to Cumilla. Md. Rayhan Kabir, deputy secretary in the Public Division, has been appointed district administrator of Narayanganj.

In addition, Shahed Mostafa, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has been appointed to Pabna. Md. Rezaul Karim, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, has been appointed to Dhaka. Mohammad Enamul Ahsan, deputy secretary at the Cabinet Division, has been appointed to Rangpur. Mohammad Ashek Hasan, zonal settlement officer of the Land Records and Survey Directorate in Faridpur, has been appointed to Jashore. Syed Enamul Kabir, private secretary to the adviser of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has been appointed to Meherpur. Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, secretary (deputy secretary) of Dhaka South City Corporation, has been appointed to Noakhali. Mohammad Alam Hossain, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, has been appointed to Gazipur. Mohammad Masudur Rahman Molla, deputy project director of the Establishment of Digital Land Management System project, has been appointed to Gaibandha. Annapurna Debnath, deputy land reforms commissioner at the Land Reforms Board, has been appointed to Kurigram. Jahangir Alam, private secretary to the adviser of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, has been appointed to Madaripur. Touhiduzzaman Pavel, director of the Anti-Corruption Commission, has been appointed to Moulvibazar. Md. Khairul Alam Sumon, assistant director of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit, has been appointed to Barishal. Taslima Akhtar, deputy secretary at the Technical and Madrasah Division, has been appointed to Barguna. Nazma Ashrafi, deputy secretary at the Economic Relations Division, has been appointed district administrator of Rangamati.
