CHUADANGA — Fifty-three Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders, activists and supporters, including a recent former ward general secretary, have formally joined Jamaat-e-Islami.
They joined by accepting flower garlands and shaking hands with Masud Parvez Rasel, Jamaat candidate for Chuadanga-1 constituency and assistant secretary of the district Jamaat unit. The induction ceremony was held Friday night at a school ground in Alokdia Akandbaria village in the district headquarters area.
Led by Atiar Rahman, recent former general secretary of Ward 2 BNP in Akandbaria village of Alokdia union under Chuadanga sadar upazila, 53 BNP leaders, activists and supporters formally joined Jamaat-e-Islami.
- Masud Parvez Rasel, assistant secretary of Chuadanga district Jamaat, attended the ceremony as chief guest. Also present were sadar upazila Jamaat chief Billal Hosain and Alokdia union chief Abdul Momin. Ward president Tarikul Islam Liton presided over the event.
