CHOUGACHHA — The monthly meeting of the law and order committee in Yashore’s Chougachha was held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the upazila parishad auditorium.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahinur Akter chaired the meeting.

Those present included Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Municipal Administrator Tasmin Jahan; Chougachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain; freedom fighter commander Ruhul Amin; upazila BNP President M.A. Salam; upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Golam Morshed; upazila BNP General Secretary and Hakimpur union chairman Masudul Hasan; Model Secondary School head teacher Kamal Ahmed; Chougachha Press Club Vice-President Rahidul Islam Khan; General Secretary Azizur Rahman; student leader Ritam; UP chairmen Habibur Rahman, Sirajul Islam and S.M. Mominur Rahman; and Principal Manjurul Alam Litu, among others. The meeting reviewed the law and order situation over the past month. Discussion focused on a rise in city thefts, the use of loudspeakers, hydraulic horns, traffic congestion in the city, erosion of the Kapotaksh river bank, and drug smuggling across the border.
