JHENAIDAH — A pickup truck struck and killed a 65-year-old man in Jhenaidah Sadar on Friday morning as he was walking to a local mosque for dawn prayers, police said.
The victim, Rashidul Islam, also known as Madhu Munshi, died at the scene of the accident in Kodalia village of the upazila on Friday, Nov. 21. He was the son of the late Azizur Rahman of the same village.
Police and local sources said Rashidul was on his way to a local mosque for Fajr prayers when a pickup truck hit him.
Abdullah Al Mamun, officer in charge of Sadar police station, confirmed the incident and said: “As there were no complaints in this case, the body was handed over to the family without an autopsy.”
