DHAKA — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami chief Dr. Shafiqur Rahman paid courtesy calls on Chief Adviser of the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The meetings took place Friday afternoon on the sidelines of an event marking Armed Forces Day at Senakunja in the capital. They exchanged courtesies and inquired about each other’s health.
Earlier Friday, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia arrived at Senakunja at about 4:30 p.m. to attend the Armed Forces Day event, BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said.
The chief adviser asked after the health of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and wished her a speedy recovery.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia thanked the chief adviser. She also asked after the health of the chief adviser’s wife Afrozi Yunus and conveyed her best wishes.
