DHAKA — Bangladesh’s law and order situation is not satisfactory but will improve once the election schedule is announced, Chief Election Commissioner A.M.M. Nasir Uddin said Wednesday.
Special measures will be taken in areas considered high-risk during the polls, he told reporters after inspecting electoral training and drills at the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters ahead of the 13th parliamentary election.
“Law enforcement agencies are committed to performing their duties during the election,” Nasir Uddin said. “That is why we will be able to maintain law and order and deliver a fair and proper election.”
