FENI — Leaders of the Parshuram upazila BNP, municipal BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal and other affiliates paid tribute to Liberation War martyrs at the Bileonia memorial on Victory Day, the party said.
Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP convener and Feni-1 constituency organizing coordinator Rafiqul Alam Majnu led the floral tribute on Tuesday morning, Dec. 16. Also present were BNP central executive committee member and former Parshuram municipal mayor Abu Taleb; upazila BNP convener and former Chithalia union parishad chairman Abdul Halim; BNP member secretary Ibrahim Khalil Moni; municipal BNP convener Kazi Yousuf Mahfuz; member secretary Mahbubul Haq Mahbub; upazila Jubo Dal convener Shamsul Alam Shakil; joint convener Jahirul Islam Jahir; Abul Khayer Liton; upazila Chhatra Dal convener Atahar Hossain Chowdhury Paprul; and member secretary Kamrul Hasan Chowdhury Babu.
Majnu said those calling Victory Day a black day had opposed Bangladesh’s independence in 1971 by siding with Pakistani forces. “That defeated force is now opposing the Liberation War, Victory Day, Independence Day and other national days of Bangladesh,” he said.
