Criticising past mismanagement of the health sector, Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain said the sector fell far behind during 17 years of rule, and that no negligence in it will now be tolerated. Those who neglect their duties will lose their jobs, he warned.

He also said delays in installing and starting modern cancer treatment equipment would be removed, and that with the prime minister’s help steps would be taken to make sure such equipment can be imported duty-free.
