Four more children have died with measles or its symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours. In the same period 1,242 new suspected and confirmed measles cases were recorded.
The figures came in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular measles report on Friday afternoon.
All four deaths in the past day were in Dhaka division: three children died with measles symptoms and one with confirmed measles, the directorate said. Since 15 March, 1,114 children have died of measles or its symptoms nationwide, 102 of confirmed measles and 1,012 with its symptoms.
