TEHRAN, Sept. 26 — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the Hormuz crisis can be resolved only through diplomacy, not the use of force. He made the remarks in an interview with Al Jazeera.

Blaming the United States for the possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz, he said Washington had blocked Iran’s path.

He said that if Iran’s route of movement is closed, closing the Strait of Hormuz would be a kind of natural reaction.

In his view, the Strait of Hormuz crisis can be resolved through talks, not through the use of force.

The Iranian president said that if disputes are settled through dialogue, the waterway will remain open for commercial movement.
