The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection has fined Mizan Filling Station 40,000 taka for short measure and the Mama-Bhagne wholesale house 10,000 taka for failing to display a list of goods, in Rangpur.
The fines were imposed on Monday afternoon (September 21) on Messrs Mizan Filling Station in the Chartala Mor area of the city, owned by Mizanur Rahman Mizan, the Rangpur divisional president of the Bangladesh Petroleum Owners’ Association, and on the Mama-Bhagne wholesale house in City Bazar.
The divisional and district offices of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection carried out raids at both places beforehand. The deputy director of the directorate’s Rangpur divisional office, Md Jahangir Alam, and assistant director Md Mostafizur Rahman were present at the raids. Inspectors from BSTI and a team from the Special Response Battalion (SRB-13) assisted.
