BEIRUT — Israel continued strikes on Lebanon in violation of a ceasefire on Sunday, killing 14 people, and ordered residents of southern Lebanon to evacuate once more.

Israel has forcibly told people to leave seven border towns, where it plans to establish a buffer zone.

An Israeli soldier was killed in close-quarters combat during operations in southern Lebanon, and six others were wounded, the Israel Defense Forces said. Four of the wounded are in critical condition.

The IDF identified the soldier killed as Idan Fuchs, a member of the 77th Battalion of the army’s 7th Brigade.

Lebanon and Israel agreed to the ceasefire under U.S. mediation, but each side has accused the other of breaching the deal.
