Israel has revoked the entry permits of several American Jewish rights activists who took part in protests against attacks on Palestinians and damage to their property in the occupied West Bank. The U.S. Jewish outlet The Forward reported this on Friday.

According to the report, American activist Sam Sherman was taking part in a seven-week volunteer programme in the Masafer Yatta area of the occupied West Bank, where he was working to help Palestinians. During that time he received an email from Israeli authorities cancelling his travel permit.

Sherman said several other members of his group received similar emails at the same time. According to him, Israeli soldiers, police and armed settlers had photographed his passport during clashes with Palestinians.

He said they were mainly spending time with local people and helping them, but were treated as if merely being present there was almost a crime.

Sherman also said some experienced Jewish activists had told him that unless he permanently immigrated to Israel, he might not be allowed to enter the country in future.

Israeli authorities have given no reason for cancelling the American Jewish activists’ travel permits.

Meanwhile, Palestinian officials allege that Israeli settlers’ attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are continuing. According to Palestinian government figures, there were 3,488 attacks on Palestinian citizens and their property in the first six months of 2026.

These include attacks on individuals, damage to property, the setting up of new illegal settlement outposts, and blocking Palestinian farmers from accessing their own land.
