Jamaat parliamentary delegation to attend Khamenei’s funeral in Iran

A high-level parliamentary delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is travelling to Iran to take part in the farewell, funeral and state ceremonies for Iran’s late supreme leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Husseini Khamenei, at the invitation of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The delegation will leave Dhaka on 3 July and remain in Iran until 9 July.

Led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Naib-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman MP, the other members of the delegation are Md Nurul Amin MP, Dr Md Keramat Ali MP and Dr SM Khaliduzzaman.

Party sources said the delegation would attend the funeral and state ceremonies to express deep grief, condolences and solidarity with the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the visit, in line with the official programme, the delegation will pay courtesy calls on Iran’s top leadership and the relevant government authorities. The visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding fraternal ties, mutual understanding and bilateral cooperation between the peoples of Bangladesh and Iran.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami also expressed its sincere gratitude to the Iranian government for the invitation and for the support extended to make the delegation’s visit a success.
