Five more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, 1,137 people were affected by measles or measles symptoms.
The information was given in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular measles report on Friday, July 24.
The report said measles was confirmed by test in 187 children in the past 24 hours. A further 950 children were treated with measles symptoms.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 715 children have died with measles symptoms in the country from March 15 to July 24 this year. In the same period, a further 95 children died of test-confirmed measles. In all, 810 children have died of measles or measles symptoms during this period.
The total number of suspected measles patients in the country has reached 1,22,150. Of these, 15,194 are test-confirmed measles patients. A total of 1,04,717 have been admitted to hospital. Of them, 1,01,056 have been discharged and returned home after treatment.
