Three more children have died in the country in the past 24 hours with symptoms of measles. Another 1,075 people were newly infected during the same period.
The information was given in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular measles report on Wednesday afternoon.
The directorate said two children died with measles symptoms in the Chattogram division in the past 24 hours. One more child died of measles in the Dhaka division.
In all, the total number of deaths from measles symptoms and confirmed infection since 15 March this year has reached 831.
Of them 95 died after testing positive for measles. A further 735 died with symptoms of measles.
The directorate has urged everyone to ensure children receive the measles-rubella (MR) vaccine on schedule, and to contact the nearest health centre quickly if fever, a rash or other measles symptoms appear.
