The measles outbreak keeps worsening. Across the country in the past 24 hours, 8 more children have died with measles symptoms. In the same period, measles or its symptoms were newly detected in 1,171 people. The information was given in the Directorate General of Health Services’ (DGHS) regular measles situation report on Thursday.
In addition, measles was confirmed in 197 new people across the country in the past 24 hours, while another 974 people showed symptoms of the disease in the same period. As a result, from 15 March to Thursday, measles symptoms have been detected in a total of 115,138 people nationwide, and measles has been confirmed in a total of 14,104 people during that time.
According to DGHS data, from 15 March to Thursday a total of 97,919 people were admitted to hospital across the country with measles and its symptoms. Of them, 94,275 have so far been discharged after completing treatment.
