The SSC and equivalent examinations for 2027 will now begin on March 14, instead of the originally planned January 7, and will run through April 15.
Professor Syed Aktaruzzaman, chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, confirmed the change Monday. He said the full examination schedule would be published the same day.
The education ministry had earlier made a preliminary decision to start the examination on January 7, and had published a preliminary schedule based on that date.
However, the government has now moved away from that decision after considering several factors, including gaps in students’ exam preparation. The decision has been made to push the start of the examination back two months, to March 14.
