One person has died of measles in Dhaka in the country in the past 24 hours. Over the same period, another six people died with measles symptoms — four in Dhaka and two in Sylhet. With this, 766 people have died of measles and measles symptoms this year, of whom 95 died of confirmed measles and 671 with measles symptoms.
The information was given in a message from the Directorate General of Health Services on Tuesday, with the figures calculated up to 8 a.m. that morning. According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 122 measles patients were identified in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of identified patients to 13,735. Over the same period, measles symptoms newly appeared in 868 people, the directorate said, raising the total number of suspected patients to 113,244.
