Four more children died with measles-like symptoms nationwide over the past 24 hours. The Directorate General of Health Services disclosed the figures in a news release from its control room Wednesday.
The release states that 931 patients with measles-like symptoms were identified over the past day. That brings the total number of patients identified with measles-like symptoms nationwide, from March 15 through August 19, to 145,711.
During this period, 87 people were confirmed to have measles over the past 24 hours. The total number of confirmed measles patients from March 15 through August 19 stands at 18,076.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 127,076 people were hospitalized with measles-like symptoms nationwide from March 15 through August 19. Of them, 122,805 have since recovered and been discharged from hospital.
Meanwhile, four people died with measles-like symptoms over the past 24 hours. That brings the total number of children who have died with measles-like symptoms from March 15 through August 19 to 823.
However, there were no deaths from confirmed measles over the past 24 hours. A total of 99 people have died from confirmed measles from March 15 through August 19.
