Three more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, and 1,080 new patients have been found with measles or its symptoms in the same period. This takes the death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms to 847.
The information came in a press release issued by the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Monday (3 August).
The release said three children had died with measles symptoms in 24 hours, and there were 1,080 new measles and measles-symptom patients in a single day. From 15 March to date, 751 children have died with measles symptoms, and another 96 children have died from confirmed measles in the same period — a total of 847 child deaths from measles and its symptoms.
According to health directorate data, the total number of suspected measles patients from 15 March to date is 131,050, and the number of confirmed measles patients is 16,408. Of these, 113,528 patients were hospitalised, of whom 109,189 have already been discharged and returned home.
