A garment worker was killed by a speeding covered van while crossing the road in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, on Wednesday morning (July 1).
The incident occurred in the Bhuigar area in front of the Youth Development Office. The victim, Mansura, 25, was crossing the road on her way to work when the vehicle struck her. She died at the scene despite rescue efforts by locals.
Mansura was from Dingabhanga village, Muktarpur union, Munshiganj, and the daughter of Selim Madbar. She lived with her husband Imon and their four-year-old daughter in Mahmudpur, Fatulla. Her husband is a tea stall owner.
Siddhirganj OC Mohammad Emdadul Haq said police are working to identify the vehicle and apprehend the driver. Legal proceedings will be taken, and the body will be handed over to the family after the completion of legal formalities, he said.
