Four new cabinet members sworn in

Four new members joined the cabinet under Prime Minister Tareque Rahman. President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir administered their oath at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Friday evening, August 21.

The four sworn in are: Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, a member of BNP’s standing committee and MP for Narsingdi-2; Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho, chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) and MP for Bhola-1; Sachingprue Jerry, MP for Bandarban; and M Rashiduzzaman Millat.

Earlier, at 7:30 p.m., Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was sworn in as the country’s 23rd president at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban, with acting Jatiya Sangsad speaker Kaiser Kamal administering the oath. The new cabinet members were sworn in immediately after the president’s oath.
